Thapar Institute of Engineering and Technology was established in 1956 and is located in Patiala, Punjab. TIET is formerly known as Thapar University and is accredited by NBA, NAAC with A+ grade. The University offers various UG, PG, and PhD courses. Under the International Engineering program Thapar Institute of Engineering and Technology University through its Center for International Relations with the collaboration with Trinity College Dublin, University of Dublin (TCD). The academic agreement between Thapar University and Trinity College Dublin provides the students admitted to UG programs at TIET. It gives the students the opportunity to study at Ireland’s leading university well known as Trinity College, Dublin. The eligible students will pursue the first two years of their course at Thapar University and after that they will be transferred to TCD in their 3rd and 4th academic year. The transfer is also subject to obtaining the minimum academic requirement marks. Trinity College, Dublin will award the final degree to the students.

Ans. The admission to the undergraduate credit transfer program is purely on merit which is based on performance of the candidates in the JEE Main examination and with the eligibility of 10+2 with 60% marks. However, to be eligible the student must score a minimum of 20% (15% for SC/ST) marks in JEE Main exam. The students will be admitted based on the TIET rank to the UG IEP.
