The official notification released today states that the previous system, which utilized three distinct forms (Form V, VI and VII), has been streamlined into just two comprehensive formats, as per the DEPwD notification of October 16, 2024.

Candidates preparing for ongoing and future SSC exams are advised to use the new formats where possible but can utilize the older formats for a transitional period if the notice for their exam.

In a crucial concession, the SSC has decided that for all examination notices issued after October 16, 2024, where the recruitment process is still incomplete, candidates will have the flexibility to submit their Disability Certificate in either the newly revised formats (Form V and VI) or the earlier prescribed formats.

The new formats require detailed medical authority information, including diagnosis, percentage of disability and whether the certificate is permanent or temporary. The updated Form V lists twenty specified disabilities for single diagnosis, while Form VI provides a matrix for reporting multiple disabilities and calculating the overall percentage.
