University of Calcutta, Kolkata Admission 2024:Dates,Eligibility, Application Process and Selection Criteria

The University of Calcutta admissions are based entrance exams and merits obtained in the previous qualifying exams. The college offers offline and online mode applications based on the courses. 60% seats are Reserved for CU students and 40% for non - CU candidates.

 B. Tech : 

• Eligibility - Class 12 degree with Physics, Chemistry, and Mathematics or Biology with at least 50% marks. 
• Entrance exam - WBJEE or JEE Main followed by a counselling round.

B. Tech (Lateral Entry) :

• Eligibility - B. Sc (Hons.) in relevant subject with minimum 55% marks. 
• Entrance exam - JELET followed by a counselling round. 

BA (Hons) : 

• Eligibility - Class 12 degree with minimum 50% marks. 
• Entry - Merit-based
   

B. Sc (Hons) : 

• Eligibility - 10 + 2 with a minimum of 50% marks.
   

B. Mus : 

• Eligibility - Class 12 degree with minimum 55% marks. 

BA - LLB :

• Eligibility - Class 12 degree with minimum 50% marks. 
• Entrance Exam - University- based entrance exam. 

MBA : 

• Eligibility - Bachelor’s degree with at least 50% marks. 
• Entrance Exam - CAT/ MAT/ XMAT/ JEMAT followed by GD and PI rounds. 

M. Tech : 

• Eligibility - B.E/ B.Tech/ MCA degree with minimum of 55% marks. 
• Entrance Exam - GATE (for Non - Sponsored/Non-CU candidates) followed by an Interview
   

MCA : 

• Eligibility - BCA with minimum of 50% marks.
• Entrance Exam - WB-JECA followed by a counselling round. 

LLM : 

• Eligibility - Bachelor of Law with minimum of 50% marks. 
• Entrance Exam - Calcutta University Law Entrance Test (CULET PG) followed by a counselling round.

B. Ed : 

• Eligibility - Bachelor’s degree with minimum of 50% marks. 
• Entrance Exam - Merit - based(for Part “A”) or Entrance Test (for Part “B”) followed by a counselling round. 

MA : 

• Eligibility - Bachelor’s degree with minimum of 50% marks
   

M. Sc : 

• Eligibility - Bachelor’s degree in Science stream (B. Sc) with minimum of 50% marks.
   

M. Com : 

• Eligibility - B. Com degree with minimum of 50% marks.
   

M. Ed : 

• Eligibility - B. Ed degree with minimum of 50% marks.
