  • IGNOU uses a multi-tier evaluation system that includes self-assessment, tutor-marked assignments, practical work, seminars, workshops, and term-end exams.

  • Visit the Re-Registration Portal to fill out your form and pay online (open for both Indian and international students).
  • Click on “New Registration” if you’re using the portal for the first time; use a valid mobile number and email ID.
  • Already registered? Use your Username and Password to log in.
  • If you face issues like missing OTP or login problems, contact your Regional Centre for help.
  • Choose your courses carefully based on your Program Guide—changes later may reduce study time.
  • Use safe online payment methods (card, net banking, UPI/BHIM). Don’t share OTP or card details.
  • Avoid waiting till the last date to re-register.
  • If your payment doesn’t reflect, wait a day before retrying.
  • If you pay twice, one payment will be refunded.
  • If using a cybercafé or third-party, double-check course selection and keep a printout of the form and payment.

IGNOU Scholarship

GNOU provides scholarships and fee concessions to students from reserved categories like Scheduled Castes and Scheduled Tribes. These benefits are mainly for financially weak students or single girl children. To apply, students need to fill out the scholarship form on the IGNOU website.

Students from rural areas can get a 50% fee concession if they submit a domicile certificate. Urban students living below the poverty line may also get a 50% fee concession. Additionally, jail inmates under trial in Indian prisons are exempted from paying the program and registration fees.
