Kolkata: The Delhi High Court continued hearing petitions concerning the CLAT 2025 results on April 09, 2025 (Wednesday). The case is being heard by a division bench led by Chief Justice Devendra Kumar Upadhyaya and Justice Tushar Rao Gedela. During Monday's hearing, the bench observed that the Consortium of NLUs should "engage more competent paper setters in the future" to prevent similar errors in the examination.

During the last hearing, the Delhi High Court examined the disputed questions in the CLAT UG 2025 exam, some of which were later withdrawn by the petitioners. The court instructed the Consortium of National Law Universities (NLUs) to submit a counter affidavit within two weeks.

The Supreme Court transferred the batch of petitions to the Delhi High Court's division bench to avoid conflicting rulings across different jurisdictions. Initially, the apex court had contemplated assigning the matter to the Punjab and Haryana High Court, as the first legal challenge to the CLAT 2025 answer key had been filed there.

However, the Consortium of NLUs requested the Supreme Court to either hear all CLAT-related petitions itself or consolidate them before a single High Court. The Consortium also sought the transfer of all pending pleas concerning the CLAT 2025 results from various High Courts to the Supreme Court, warning of the possibility of contradictory judgments.

During the proceedings, an aspirant informed the Delhi High Court that similar petitions were pending in multiple High Courts and that transfer applications would be filed before the Supreme Court. Both the aspirants and the Consortium had opposed the Delhi HC's earlier intervention, with the Consortium arguing that a single-judge bench should not have interfered in matters involving the answer key, a domain reserved for subject experts.
