In the case of direct MTech admissions, the merit of BTech degree will be considered.

The application process for GATE starts in August every year and the college-wise admissions take place in July- August in the following year. The most popular MTech courses in India are CSE, Civil Engineering, Chemical Engineering, Electrical Engineering, VLSI, Mechanical Engineering, Electronics and Communication Engineering. Furthermore, specializations like Data Science and Artificial Intelligence, Machine Learning, Cyber Security are also gathering much needed attention from the MTech aspirants.

The fees for MTech program in India ranges from 1 lakh to 6 lakhs for 2 years depending on your chosen college. The cutoff of top tier colleges like IIT Kharagpur or IIT Delhi ranges from 800 to 400.
