Q : What is the basic difference between a Master of Arts (MA) and MFA ?

A : The Master of Arts usually deals with Academic - based subjects. Some of the subjects under the M.A course are History, Geography, English, Political science and Sociology. Whereas, The Master of Fine Arts (MFA) deals with Art and creativity. Some MFA subjects are Dance, Music, Painting, Designing and Pottery.
 

Q : Can I do an MFA without a BFA ?

A : No, Candidates cannot apply for the MFA course without a BFA degree. Candidates must have a Bachelor in Fine Arts degree to get admission to MFA. Since it is a very specialized course requiring particular skills from the students, it is important to have completed BFA in order to be eligible for MFA. 
 

Q : Can I pursue higher education after my MFA ?

A : Yes, You can pursue higher education after completing the MFA. You can either opt for Research in fine arts or you can get a job as an Assistant Professor.
 

Q : What are the various specializations for the MFA programme ?

A : There are various MFA specializations, that you can study, including Graphic designing, Applied arts, Painting, Dance, etc.
 

Q : What is the course duration of MFA ?
