1. Post Graduate Indira Gandhi Scholarship Scheme for Single Girl Child

- This grant is offered to the girl students with the maximum age limit of 30 years.
- The candidate must be a single girl child in the family.
- The applicant must have passed the first year of PG course in regular mode from a recognized university.

2. Post Graduate Merit Scholarship for University Rank Holder
Application Period: Between August and November (Tentative)

Eligibility Criteria:
- The candidates must have completed their graduation in the below streams, Life Sciences, Chemical Sciences, Physical Sciences, Mathematical Sciences, Earth Sciences, Social Science, Languages, Commerce.
- The students must be the second rank holders at the bachelor’s degree and enrolled in a regular mode Master’s degree course from a recognized university.
- The age of the students must not exceed 30 years old at the time of enrolling into the PG program.
- Applicants must have at least 60% marks in the bachelor’s degree.

3. Post Graduate Scholarships for Professional Courses for SC/ST Candidates

This grant is open for students who are studying the 1st year of professional program at postgraduate level from a recognized university. The courses must be approved by the authorities such as ICAR, INC, Forensic Regulatory, Development Authority of India, AICTE, PCI, DCI, RCI, NCTIS, Bar Council of India, NCTE, and MCI.
Rewards
- INR 7,800 per month for two years for ME/MTech students.
- INR 4,500 per month for two years for other professional courses.

4. Special Scholarship Scheme Ishan Uday for NER
Application Period: Between August and November (Tentative)
Number of Scholarships: 10,000
Category: For all
Eligibility Criteria:
- This scholarship is offered to the students from the domicile in North Eastern Region, NER and the ones who have passed class 12.
- Students must have completed their admission in general, professional or technical degree program from a recognized college.
- The annual family income should not be more than INR 4.5 Lakh.
Rewards: Candidates studying general degree programs will get INR 5,400 per month. Applicants studying medical/professional or technical courses will get INR 7,800 per month.
Note: The award is for one year, and it can be renewed every year. Candidates must have good attendance and maintain their marks.

5. Swami Vivekananda Single Girl Child Scholarship for Research in Social Sciences

Eligibility
- The scholarship is awarded to the single girl child.
- Candidates must be studying in the full-time, regular PhD program in Social Sciences at a recognized university.
- Applicant’s maximum age limit should be 40 years and for reserved category it’s 45 years.
- Students studying PhD program in distance mode cannot apply.
- Transgender students can apply.

- Fellowship of INR 25,000 per month for the first two years and INR 28,000 per month for the remaining period.
- A contingency grant of INR 10,000 per annum for the first two years and IR 20,500 per annum for the remaining period.

6. Emeritus Fellowship

Eligibility Criteria:
- The fellowship is awarded to experienced, superannuated and highly qualified teachers from recognized educational institutes.
- The candidate must have served in their career with published work and quality research.
- The fellowship allows candidates to work in a time-bound action plan up to the age of 70 years.

- An honorarium of INR 31,000 per month for two years.

7. Dr. S. Radharkrishnan Post-Doctoral Fellowship in Humanities and Social Sciences

Eligibility Criteria:
- The fellowship is awarded to the unemployed researchers below 35 years before the deadline for the submission of their online registrations. There is 5 years of relaxation for reserved category students and female applicants.
- Applicants must have at least 55% marks in UG and 60% in PG level. Reserved category students get 5% relaxation.
- Transgender students can also apply.
Rewards
- Fellowship of INR 38,800 for the 1st year, INR 40,300 for the 2nd year and INR 41,900 for the 3rd year.

8. Dr. D. S. Kothari Postdoctoral Fellowship Scheme

Eligibility Criteria:
- The fellowship is awarded for candidates with age below 35 years and with a PhD degree under Science stream.
- Teachers working and under 35 years can also apply
- Previous applicants can apply for the fellowship if they were declined before.
Rewards
- Normal Fellowship of INR 43,400, INR 45,000 and INR 46,500 for the first, second and third year.
- Higher fellowship of INR 46,500 for the first, second and third years.
- Contingency allowance of INR 1 Lakh per annum.

9. Post-Doctoral Fellowship to Women Candidates

Eligibility:
- This fellowship is awarded to the woman candidates who are unemployed after completing a PhD degree.
- The applicant’s age should not be over 55 years, which is 5 years for the reserved category applicants.
- Candidates must have at least 55% marks in UG and 60% marks in PG level. There is a 5% relaxation in marks for reserved category students.
- Transgender candidates can apply for this fellowship.

10. Post-Doctoral Fellowship to SC/ST Candidates

Eligibility Criteria:
- The fellowship is available for the unemployed applicants with a PhD degree in a relevant stream.
- The maximum age limit for male candidate is 50 years, and for female students it’s 55 years.
- Candidates must have 50% marks in the UG level with 55% marks in PG level.

12. National Fellowship for Higher Education of ST Students

13. National Fellowship for Persons with Disabilities

Eligibility Criteria:
This fellowship is open for all students with disabilities and must have enrolled in PhD/MPhil program at a university.
Rewards
- The scholarship offers the monthly stipend of INR 16,000 for the first two years, and INR 18,000 per month for the remaining years.
- The scholarship offers allowance for Humanities, Commerce and Social Science is INR 10,000 per year for the first two years, and INR 20,500 for the remaining period.
- The contingency for Science, Engineering & Technology is INR 12,000 and INR 25,000 for the remaining period.

14. Maulana Azad National Fellowship for Minority Students

Eligibility Criteria:
- This fellowship is eligible for the students from minority groups, that is, Jain, Parsi, Buddhists, Sikhs, Christians, and Muslims.
- Candidates must be enrolled in regular and full-time M.Phil./PhD program.
- The annual family income must not exceed INR 2.5 Lakh.
- Students must have at least 50% marks in PG degree.
- Transgender candidates can apply for this fellowship.

- This fellowship amount is INR 25,000 per month (JRF) for the first two years and INR 28,000 per month (SRF) for the remaining period.
- The students of Humanities, Social Sciences and commerce can get INR 10,000 per annum for the first two years, and INR 20,500 per annum for the remaining period.
- The contingency for Science can get INR 12,000 per annum for the first two years, and INR 25,000 per annum for the remaining period.

15. National Fellowship for OBC Candidate

- Students must have passed their PG degree and have registered for PhD or M. Phil programs.
- Transgender students can apply for this fellowship.
- The annua family income should not exceed INR 6 Lakh

- Students with fellowship in Social Sciences, Humanities and Sciences include JRF of INR 25,000 per month for the first two years and SRF of INR 28,000 per month for the remaining tenure.
- The contingency for Humanities and Social Sciences is INR 10,000 per annum for the initial two years and INR 20,500 per annum.

UGC Scholarship Results
Once the application process is complete for UGC fellowship and scholarship, candidates get eager to know the outcome. The authority follows a strict and careful scrutiny system to shortlist the fellows and scholars. While the grants are awarded to the candidates who meet the requirement condition and found original during the document verification, the aids are given to students who receive the recommendations from the Expert Committee held by the UGC after an interview. UGC Scholarship Disbursement
The UGC offers the scholarships directly into the bank accounts of the eligible applicants. So, it’s important for the candidates to have their own bank accounts at a nationalized bank at the time of applying for the fellowships or scholarships.
UGC Scholarship Renewal
The duration of the scholarships depends on the course students are pursuing. UGC follows specified monitoring system for the continuation of the grants each year. Under the responsibility of the head of the department the candidate will submit their yearly progress to their respective banks signed by the HoD and the Registrar of the University or Principal of the College or the principal of the educational institute. If the candidate fails to maintain satisfactory progress during the study years, the scholarship may get cancelled or terminated.
