Eligibility Criteria: IIT Madras Data Science Admission 2024
- Students who have completed 12th standard or equivalent can apply for the course.
- Candidates who have appeared in the class 11 final exam, and only the ones who qualify for class 12 and pass the standard are eligible.
- Students must have studied English and Mathematics in 10th standard.
Admission Information to the Foundation Level at IIT Madras for Data Science
The college accepts two times of admissions for its courses. One is regular and the other is JEE based entry.
Regular Admission– Candidates regardless of their backgrounds, can apply for admission to the Foundation level, after completing the qualifier system.
JEE-based Admission– Students who are eligible to take the JEE Advanced exam can get direct admission to the foundation platform.
International Student Admission– This program is available for all students around the world.
Candidates can study at IIT Madras and can apply for a Bachelor of Science in Data Science and Applications, from anywhere in the world. The exam will be in remote proctored mode.
The college offers in-person exams in countries such as Oman – Muscat, Kuwait – Salmiya, Bahrain – Manama, Sri Lanka – Colombo, Jaffna, UAE – Dubai, Abu Dhabi, and Sharjah.
Students have to be present in person at the exam centers.
International students can apply for the program and enroll for the entrance exam, for that, they can send an email to ge@study.iitm.ac.in. Until now, a total of 159 international students appeared for the entrance exam with IIT Madras.
Steps to Apply for IIT Madras Data Science Course
Candidates have to visit the official website. Follow the below steps.
Step 1- Go to the official website study.iitm.ac.in
Step 2– On the homepage, click on “Applications Open now for September 2024 Batch | Applications Close: Sep 15, 2024 | Exam: Oct 27, 2024- Apply Now” to access the next step.
Step 3– To register, students have to sign up with their Google accounts. Enter the personal details and click on “Next” to follow the instructions and complete the registration process.
Step 4- Pay the fee, and keep a copy of the payment for future reference.
IIT Madras Data Science Admission 2024 Application Fees
- For the OBC and General category students- INR 3000.
- SC/ST and PwD category students- INR 1500.
- SC/ST candidates from the PwD category with 40% or more disability- INR 750.
There will be an additional fee for the students who want to take the Qualifier test at any international exam venue. Payments will be accepted in online mode only. Candidates are notified that the applications will be qualified if they successfully make the payment and provide the required details and documents. Without any one of these, the application will not be valid.
