GATE 2025 eligibility criteria are released by IIT Roorkee on the official website, gate2025.iitr.ac.in. Interested candidates can check the GATE 2025 eligibility requirements. If they fulfill the criteria, they can fill up the application form that was opened on 28 August, and can apply till 26 September, 2024, without paying any late fees. With late fees of INR 500, candidates can apply till 7 October, 2024.

 

GATE 2025 Eligibility Criteria

Before applying for the test, candidates are requested to make sure they fulfill the eligibility criteria first.

 

Eligibility

Students pursuing the higher or third years in any Undergraduate program, or those who have completed any Indian Government approved degree in Humanities/ Engineering/Arts/ Commerce/ Science / Architecture or Technology can appear for this exam.

 

Eligible Exam Conducting Colleges or Professional Societies

The conducting colleges or professional institutes that offer exams in various fields of Engineering are,

 

  • The Indian Institute of Metals (IIM)
  • The Indian Institute of Industrial Engineers (IIIE)
  • The Institution of Engineers (India) (IE)
  • The Institution of Civil Engineers (ICE)
  • The Aeronautical Society of India (AeSI)
  • The Indian Institute of Chemical Engineers, along with Polymer and Environmental Group (IIChE)
  • The Institution of Electronics and Telecommunication Engineers (IETE)

Note: Candidates with certificates from the above-mentioned professional institutes or others have to make sure that the tests are approved by UPSC/UGC/AICTE or MoE, and the courses has to be equivalent to B. Planning/ B. Arch/ B. Tech or B.E., etc.

 

For Foreign Students

Candidates from countries outside India must be pursuing their higher or third years or have finished the Undergraduate degree with three years duration in Humanities/Arts/Commerce/Science/Architecture/Technology/ or Engineering.

Aspirants who meet these above-mentioned requirements can appear for GATE 2025.

Students who have completed BCOM/BA or BSc with a year’s duration can apply for this exam to pursue a Master’s degree in IISC and IITs.

  • Pharm/ B.E. / B. Tech: Bachelor’s degree in Technology and Engineering can apply. The candidates must be in the 3rdyear of the course and have completed or pursuing higher studies.
  • Arch: Bachelor’s degree in Architecture: This has to be a five-year program. Candidates must be in the third year, have completed the course, or studying higher level education.

 

Bachelor’s degree in Science or B.S/ B.Sc. (Research): Students must be studying in the third year or have completed the degree.

 

Doctor of Pharmacy or Pharm. D: Candidates must have completed 6 years of course, with residency training or internship in the third year. Should have completed the 3rd/4th/5th or 6th year, or have completed the program.

 

  • V. Sc/M.B.B.S. / B.D.S. /: Students from the 5th to 7th semester or pursuing the higher semester can apply.

 

MCA or equal/M. Sc./ M.A: Postgraduate degree in Computer Applications/ Statistics / Mathematics/ Science / or Arts can apply. Students must be pursuing the first year or have completed the program.

 

Integrated M.E or M. Tech: Integrated Masters in Engineering or Technology students after BSc can apply. Candidates must be pursuing the first, second, third, or fourth year or have completed the course.

 

Dual Degree (After Diploma or class 10+2) or Integrated M. Pharm/ M. Tech or M.E: Students can apply for GATE 2025. Candidates must be in the third, fourth, or fifth year, or must have finished the program.

 

  • Com/ B.A. or BSc: Bachelor’s degree in Commerce, Arts or Science can apply for this exam. Students must have completed the degree or studying in the third year.

 

Integrated Bachelor in Science or Master of Surgery and Integrated Master in Science: Candidates pursuing these programs in the third year or have completed can apply.

 

Candidates who have completed Professional Society Exams which is equal to B.E. / B.Tech. / B. Arch programs– The exams must be recognized by AICTE/UGC/ MoE. Students must have completed “A” section or equivalent of these professional programs.

 

Bachelor of Science or BSc in Forestry, Horticulture, or Agriculture: Students pursuing these courses or have completed can apply.

 

What is the Age Limit for GATE 2025

  • The exam requires no age limit to apply.

 

What is the Attempt Limit for GATE 2025

Interested candidates can attempt to apply for this exam as many times as they want. Which means there are no limits for attempts.

 

What are the Required Documents for GATE 2025 Application

Candidates who want to apply for GATE 2025, must adhere to the requirements of documents for the exam.

  • Students who have completed the qualifying exam in 2025 or before- Have to provide a degree certificate or membership certificate signed by the authorized officials.
  • Candidates who will meet the eligibility criteria of GATE 2025- Must provide a provisional certificate from the Dean or the head of the department of the educational institute, or a copy of the scorecard for “A” section of AMIE.
  • Students with backlogs in any subjects in the qualifying tests- Must provide the copy of the mark sheet of the final year exam issued by their respective colleges.

  • Dyslexic candidates must provide a certificate describing their state-issued by an authority.
  • Candidates from the SC/ST category have to upload their valid category certificate
  • PwD candidates have to upload their certificate proof issued by a competent authority.
