Karnataka Common Entrance Test, KCET is a state-level entrance test conducted by the Karnataka Examination Authority, KEA. The test is conducted for admission to various undergraduate courses, such as homoeopathy studies, Ayurveda, pharmacy, and engineering.
What is COMEDK?
The Consortium of Medical, Engineering, and Dental Colleges of Karnataka, is the conducting body of COMDEK. This state-level entrance exam is conducted for the admission of undergraduate candidates in architecture and engineering courses in the best colleges in Karnataka state.
Eligibility Criteria for COMEDK vs KCET Examination
KCET
- KCET eligibility is based on the 7-year study certificate in the Karnataka state, and a child of armed forces will get an exception.
- KCET requires 12th class from PCM/PCB for engineering and medical streams, with the equal scores of 1:1.
COMDEK
- COMDEK eligibility criteria is for all students from India. This test doesn’t consider the marks of 12th class, or the subjects.
- The admission is based on the COMDEK rank only.

KCET vs COMEDK Syllabus
There’s not much difference between the syllabuses of KCET and COMDEK. For KCET, students have to study their Karnataka PUC 1st and 2nd year syllabus. On the other hand, for COMDEK, students have to study CBSE class 11 and 12 syllabuses. Although the syllabuses are almost same, KCET is more difficult than COMDEK.
