Toggle1. Central Sector Scheme of Scholarship for College and University Students (CSSS)
This scholarship has been active since 2008 and is offered to class 12 students enrolling for higher studies in universities or colleges.
CSSS Eligibility criteria:
- Students must have marks above 80% in the class 12 exam.
- Candidates must be enrolled in regular courses. Correspondence and distance programs are not eligible for this scholarship.
- The annual family income of the family must not exceed INR 4.5 Lakh.
- students must not be receiving other fee waivers or scholarships
- diploma students are not eligible.
How to Apply for CSSS
Candidates have to visit the official website to apply for the Central Sector Scheme of Scholarship for College and University Students. Follow the below steps.
Step 1- Go to the official website scholarships.gov.in/ApplicationForm.
Step 2- Click on the “New User? Register Yourself” option and click on “Continue” as it will take you to an external site.
Step 3- Read the information on the page carefully, agree to the terms and click on “Next” to access the next step.
Step 4- Enter your mobile number. There will be an OTP on that number, provide that, enter the captcha and click on “Verify” to proceed to the next instructions and complete the process.
Step 5– For the login return to the login section and enter the one-time registration number and password, captcha and click on “Login” to sign in as an applicant.
2. Board’s Merit Scholarship (BMS)
This scholarship is offered to the SC/ST category students studying under CBSE.
BMS Eligibility criteria:
- Candidates must have completed their classes 10 and 12 from CBSE-affiliated schools.
- Students must have a minimum of 85% marks.
- Eligible candidates will get INR 12000 a year.
3. Single Girl Child Scholarship
CBSE offers this scholarship to a single girl child of a family studying under the CBSE board.
Single Girl Child Scholarship Eligibility criteria:
- Students must have a minimum of 60% marks in the first 5 subjects of Class 10.
- The candidate must be studying in class 11 or 12.
- The monthly tuition fee must not exceed INR 1500 in class 10. The fee can increase to a maximum of 10% in classes 11 and 12.

A. No, according to the rules and the definition of this scheme, you have to be the single child in the family. There should be no siblings.
Q. Do I have to apply separately for the renewal of the scholarship?
A. Yes, you have to apply for the renewal again and separately.
