The drafted guideline offers a total 1200 national learning hours each year, with 40 credits given to the students. Furthermore, students can opt for extra courses to earn more credits.
Students can get credits through activities such as, vocational education, social work, sports, laboratory work, and classroom learning. These credits will display in the marksheets of students along with the grades and marks. Also, the credits will be deposited in the Academic Bank of Credit, ABC, linked with the DigiLocker and Automated Permanent Academic Account Registry, APAAR ID of the student.

Interested schools can apply for the pilot project in class 6 must make a mandatory attendance. Students must get a 75% in an academic session. The credits will be deposited in their marksheet, and the credits will be linked with the students’ DigiLocker and APAAR ID.
Steps to Follow for Class 9 and 11
According to the guidelines of NCrF, class 9 students must pass in 5 subjects, three main and two language subjects, so they can earn credits. Class 11 students must pass 5 subjects, four main subject and 1 core language subject or elective. Schools must ensure that each subject has annually 210 hours, which is 1,050 hours for the five mandatory subjects. Institutes can allot 150 hours to topics of internal assessments.
