All India Council for Technical Education is a national-level advisory department that imparts technical education in India. This advisory body not only offers accreditation to various educational institutes but also provides some fellowships and scholarships to students who wants to pursue technical degree programs. An AICTE scholarship assists both deserving and meritorious students to pursue higher education without facing any financial restrictions. AICTE offers various scholarships to the students of India, some of the popular scholarships are- National Doctoral Fellowship, Prime Minister Special Scholarship Scheme, AICTE PG scholarship, Pragati Scholarship, and include Saksham Scholarship.

AICTE-Saksham Scholarship Scheme: Application Period- Between August and October (Tentative)

AICTE Pragati Scholarship for Girls: Application Period- Between August and October (Tentative)

AICTE PG (GATE/GPAT) Scholarship: Application Period- Between August and October (Tentative)

AICTE-National Doctoral Fellowship Scheme: Application Period- Between May and June (Tentative)

Prime Minister Special Scholarship Scheme (PMSSS), J&K: Application Period- Between April and May (Tentative)

 

Detailed Eligibility of AICTE Scholarships

To apply for any of these scholarships, students must understand the eligibility criteria.

  • AICTE-Saksham Scholarship Scheme: Offered to the differently-abled students with disability of not less than 40%. They must have a degree or diploma degree from an AICTE-recognized college. The annual income of the family must not exceed INR 8,00,000 lakh.

 

  • AICTE Pragati Scholarship for Girls: This grant is offered to female students who have take admission to the first or second year through lateral entry at a technical diploma/degree program at an AICTE-recognized college. The annual income of the family must not exceed INR 8,00,000 lakh. Only two girl students can apply for this grant.

 

  • AICTE PG (GATE/GPAT) Scholarship: Students with qualifying marks in GATE/GPAT can apply. Candidates must have taken admission in the 1st year of M. Arch/ M. Pharma/ M. Tech/ or M.E programs at an AICTE-recognized college. Students must have a personal savings account. Applicants studying in part-time courses are not eligible.

 

  • AICTE-National Doctoral Fellowship Scheme: This is offered to the research scholars studying in an AICTE approved institute. Students must have the minimum CGPA in B. Pharm/ B. Tech or B.E and M. Pharm/ M. Tech or M.E. They must have 7.5 on the scale of 10. Candidates must have completed GATE/GPAT in the last five years. The age of the candidate should be less than 30 according to the last date of the application. There’s a 5 years relaxation for SC/ST/Women/PH applicants.

 

  • Prime Minister Special Scholarship Scheme (PMSSS), J&K: Students of Jammu & Kashmir can apply. They must have passed class 12 from CBSE-affiliated or J&K Board schools in J&K. Candidates who have completed a diploma after class 10 from J&K State in Polytechnics can also apply. Candidates must be willing to study regular general/professional/medical degree programs from the listed colleges in PMSSS outside J&K. The annual income of the family must not exceed INR 8,00,000 lakh.

 

AICTE Scholarship Rewards

AICTE-Saksham Scholarship Scheme– INR 50,000 per annum

AICTE Pragati Scholarship for Girls– INR 50,000 per annum

AICTE PG (GATE/GPAT) Scholarship– INR 12,400 per month

AICTE-National Doctoral Fellowship Scheme– An amount of INR 28,000 will be pain per month. Accommodation allowance (if hostel accommodation is unavailable). A contingency grant o INR 15,000 per annum.

Prime Minister Special Scholarship Scheme (PMSSS), J&K– An academic fee of up to INR 3,00,000. A maintenance charge of INR 1,00,000

 

Detailed Selection Process of AICTE Scholarship

  • AICTE-Saksham Scholarship Scheme– The selection of candidates will be based on the marks obtained in the last qualifying exam.

 

  • AICTE Pragati Scholarship for Girls– The selection of candidates will be based on the marks obtained in the last qualifying exam.

 

  • AICTE PG (GATE/GPAT) Scholarship– Students with valid GATE/GPAT scores will get the grant.

 

  • AICTE-National Doctoral Fellowship Scheme– The students will be selected by the office of the Principal Coordinator and after that by the related college or its department. After the selection, candidates will be called for an interview round by the National Nodal Centre.

 

  • Prime Minister Special Scholarship Scheme (PMSSS), J&K- The selection of candidates will be based on the merits through online counselling from PMSSS portal.
