Kolkata: Union Public Service Commission released the Civil Services Examination (CSE) and Indian Forest Service Examination (IFS) notifications for 2025 on January 22nd via upsc.gov.in. A total of 1129 positions are available, which inlcudes 979 in CSE and 150 in IFS.

The online application process for the UPSC CSE 2025 started on January 22nd and will close on February 11th, 2025, at 6:00 pm. Candidates will have the option to update their application form between February 12th and 18th.

What are the Eligibility Criteria for the UPSC Civil Services 2025 Exam?

  • Age Limit: 21-32 years on August 1, 2025 (born between August 2, 1993, and August 1, 2004).
  • Age Relaxation: Cumulative relaxation for SC/ST/OBC candidates who are also Ex-servicemen or PwBD. Age relaxations are provided to SC/ST (5 years), OBC (3 years), PwBD (10 years for General/OBC and 15 years for SC/ST), and Ex-servicemen (5 years for General, 8 years for OBC, and 10 years for SC/ST).

Ans: The Commission has made it easier to correct errors in applications. This window will be open for 7 days from the date of its opening, from February 12 to February 18, 2025.

Ans: Of the 979 total vacancies, 38 are reserved for Persons with Benchmark Disability (PwBD). This includes 12 for blindness/low vision, 7 for deafness/hard of hearing, 10 for locomotor disabilities (including cerebral palsy, leprosy cured, dwarfism, acid attack victims, and muscular dystrophy), and 9 for multiple disabilities.

Ans: UPSC has requested that candidates post images no older than 10 days from the start of the online application process. Candidates must ensure that the images are shot after January 12, 2025. The contestants' faces should take up three-quarters of the space in the shot. In addition, the candidate's name and the date the photograph was taken must be plainly visible.
