Kolkata: A center in-charge for the UP Board exams has been charged after allegedly sharing the Class 10 mathematics exam paper on an official WhatsApp group. The incident took place at Chaudhary BL Inter College during Saturday's exam. At 9:37 AM, center administrator Anju Yadav sent the math paper to a WhatsApp group containing 125 officials, including the District Magistrate and District School Inspector, according to education department sources.

Static Magistrate Brijesh Kumar stated that he immediately sought clarification from Yadav and had the paper removed from the group. The incident was then reported to DIOS Dr. Indrajit Singh.

Kumar filed a formal complaint at Jaithra Police Station on Saturday evening. Following the complaint, Anju Yadav has been charged under the Uttar Pradesh Public Examination (Prevention of Unfair Means) Act, 2024. Her mobile phone has been seized as part of the ongoing investigation, which aims to determine the full extent of the incident and whether any students or individuals gained an unfair advantage from the leaked exam paper. Static Magistrate Brijesh Kumar emphasized the seriousness of the situation, stating, "We are conducting a thorough investigation and will ensure that anyone found guilty faces appropriate consequences."

The incident has raised concerns about the security of UP Board Exams, which are under heightened scrutiny this year to maintain fairness. Authorities are working to ensure the integrity of the ongoing examinations and have assured the public that measures are being taken to prevent future breaches.

As the investigation continues, Anju Yadav's fate remains uncertain. Authorities have reiterated their commitment to upholding the integrity of the examination process and will take strict action as warranted.

UP Board exams for the papers affected by the March 2nd leak have been rescheduled, but the UPMSP has not yet released the new dates.
