Kolkata: Tamil Nadu Public Service Commission has announced Group 1 and Group 1A vacancies for various state positions, including Deputy Collector and Deputy Superintendent of Police. TNPSC Group 1 notification released on April 1, is available on tnpsc.gov.in. Eligible candidates can apply until April 30, 2025.

TNPSC Group 1 Prelims Exam is a qualifying, objective-type test with no negative marking. The exam consists of 200 questions: 175 General Studies, 25 Aptitude/Mental Ability for a total of 300 marks, with a 3-hour time limit. Qualifying marks are 90 for reserved categories and 120 for others.

What is TNPSC 2025 Group 1 Eligibility Criteria?

The eligibility criteria for TNPSC 2025 group 1 are given below:

  • Age Limit:
  1. Minimum age: 21 years.
  2. Maximum age: 34 years.
  3. Age calculation cutoff date: Specified in the official notification.
  4. Age relaxation: For candidates in the reserved category, the period is 5 years.
  • Educational Qualification: Candidates must hold a degree in any discipline from a recognized university (Central/State Legislature Act) or an institution recognized under Section 3 of the University Grants Commission Act, 1956.
  • Physical Measurement:

Applicable for Deputy Superintendent of Police (Category 1) and District Officer (Fire and Rescue Services).

Assessment includes height, weight, and chest measurements for both male and female candidates.
