Data provided by Union Minister of State for Education, Sukanta Majumdar, in a written response to the Lok Sabha, revealed that DU received 669,100 applications during this period, while only 204,230 students were admitted.

Specifically:

  • In 2022, 176,221 applications resulted in 65,225 admissions, leaving 110,996 applicants without placement.
