Kolkata: The Indian Ministry of Railways will now conduct all departmental promotional examinations for its 13 Lakh employees through the Railway Recruitment Board (RRB), utilizing a Computer-Based Test system.

This decision, made at a recent high-level Railway Board meeting, leverages a secure, indigenously developed CBT system perfected over seven years to prevent malpractice. Railway Minister Ashwini Vaishnaw, after thorough review, approved the implementation.

"All 18 railway zones will adhere to a strict examination calendar," confirmed a senior railway official, highlighting the RRB's track record of fair and transparent exams.

Since 2015, the RRB's CBT system has successfully examined over 70 million candidates without any reported incidents of fraud, including paper leaks, impersonation, or unauthorized access.
