Previously, the state cabinet renamed the Directorate of Elementary Education the Directorate of School Education on March 28, 2025. This new agency will be in charge of pre-nursery through class 12 education.
Kolkata: Sukhvinder Singh Sukhu, the chief minister of Himachal Pradesh, declared that the CBSE curriculum would be implemented in government schools, beginning with a trial program in 100 schools. Additionally, he disclosed that 700 new house guards had been hired. These announcements were made at the closing ceremony of Fire Service Week in Shimla.
CM Sukhu has placed a strong emphasis on health and education reforms. Recent initiatives include making senior secondary sections in urban government schools co-educational and elevating the Directorate of Elementary Education to oversee pre-nursery to Class 12.
The Chief Minister explained that the state government is endeavoring to implement a comprehensive overhaul of the education system, with the goal of providing students with quality, national-level education.
