GATE 2025 Marking Scheme

Kolkata: IIT Roorkee has released the GATE 2025 marking scheme in the official website at gate2025.iitr.ac.in. As per the official website, examinees can earn 1 or 2 marks for each correct answer, while 1/3 or 2/3 marks are deducted for incorrect responses, respectively. What is the GATE 2025 Marking Scheme?

The GATE 2025 exam pattern is tabulated below:

Marking SchemeQuestions carry 1 mark or 2 marks
Negative Marking

Negative marking will be applied for selecting the incorrect response in an MCQ.

An erroneous response will result in a 1/3-mark deduction for a 1-mark multiple-choice question.

2/3 of the mark will be removed for a bad response on a 2-mark multiple-choice question.

For incorrect answers to NAT or MSQ questions, there is no deduction in grade.

Partial marking does not exist in MSQ.
