Kolkata: Bihar Public Service Commission has issued two important official notices regarding the BPSC 70th Combined Competitive Mains exam 2025. Candidates can download the notice PDF from the official website.

The first notice provides details about unclear photos or signatures in the online application, which must be rectified and submitted at the examination center while the second notice clarifies the rules on use of calculators in the BPSC 70th CCE Mains exam 2025.

BPSC has announced specific guidelines regarding calculator usage for the upcoming 70th Combined Competitive Main Examination. Candidates will be permitted to use basic non-programmable calculators for the General Studies first paper on April 26,2025, while scientific calculators will be allowed exclusively for the Mathematics and Statistics paper on April 30, 2025.

However, all calculator use will be strictly prohibited during BPSC 2025 optional subject exam scheduled for the first shift on April 29, 2025. 

BPSC 70th CCE Mains written exams are scheduled to be conducted over five days from April 25 to April 30, 2025, with different papers being held on each day April 25, 26, 28, 29, and 30, 2025.

What is the Guideline on Uploading Documents in BPSC 70th Main Exam 2025?

BPSC has observed that certain candidates have uploaded unclear, unreadable, or blank photos and signatures in their online applications for the 70th Combined Main Competitive exam.

Such candidates must submit the following documents to the Centre Superintendent at their designated exam centre on the exam day, April 25, 2025:

  • Declaration Form Submission: Candidates must fill out a declaration form, available on the BPSC website bpsc.bihar.gov.in, ensuring all details are accurately provided. The form must be signed in both Hindi and English at the specified places, and a colour photograph attested by a gazetted officer should be affixed in the designated space.
  • Photograph Submission Guidelines on Admit Card: Candidates must affix two identical, recent colour photographs attested by a gazetted officers. First photograph should be pasted in the designated space on the printed e-admit card before arriving at the exam centre and the second photograph need to be pasted on the official copy of the e-admit card in the presence of the Centre Superintendent at the examination hall on the exam day, April 25, 2025.
  • Identity Verification: Candidates must carry one original government-issued photo ID proof (Aadhaar Card, PAN Card, or Driving License) for verification at the examination center. The ID must exactly match the details provided in the online application.
  • Verification by Centre Superintendent: Candidates will only be allowed to appear for the exam after the Centre Superintendent verifies and confirms that the submitted photographs on the admit card and declaration form are authentic and match the application records.

What's the Calculator Usage Guidelines for Integrated 70th Main Exam 2025?

Bihar Public Service Commission has announced the following guidelines regarding calculator usage for the upcoming Integrated BPSC 70th Mains exam 2025:

  • General Studies First Paper on April 26, 2025: Candidates are permitted to use only simple calculators, non-programmable, basic models.
  • Optional Subject Papers on April 29, 2025: Use of any calculator is strictly prohibited for all optional subjects on this date.
  • Financial Administrative Officer's optional subject in Mathematics and Statistics on April 30, 2025: Candidates may use scientific calculators but non-programmable for this specific exam only.

Ans: Candidates appearing for the BPSC 70th Main exam 2025 must strictly adhere to the guidelines regarding prohibited items. Do not carry mobile phones (even in switched-off mode), electronic devices, and any other items that could be used for unfair means. This includes pagers, tablets, iPads, Bluetooth devices, pen drives, and smartwatches. 

Ans: BPSC 70th Mains exam 2025 carries a total of 1000 marks, with the General Hindi paper accounting for 100 qualifying marks. For merit ranking, only the remaining 900 marks from other papers will be considered, as the Hindi paper score is excluded from the final calculation but requires minimum 30% to pass the paper to remain eligible for selection. If a candidate scores below 30% in General Hindi, they will be disqualified, even if their total marks in other papers are high.
