Rabindra Bharati University, RBU, Kolkata was established in 1962, located in Kolkata, West Bengal. Currently the institute is affiliated with The Indian College of Arts and Draftsmanship. RBU, Kolkata is recognized by UGC and is accredited by NAAC. 

The college has total 3 campuses, one is located at BT Road, second one is situated in Jorasanko and the third is located in Salt Lake. RBU, Kolkata offers multi-disciplinary courses at doctoral, UG and PG levels, in various streams such as Arts, Languages, Social Science, Education, etc.

Rabindra Bharati University, RBU, Kolkata also offers distance and online programs through the Centre for Distance and Online Education, CDOE. The campus in Salt Lake offers the online and distance courses. 

The institute at present offers over 10 programs through distance mode which is recognized by the Distance Education Council, DEC. Candidates seeking admission to this university can also apply for scholarships and fellowships offers by the Government of West Bengal and UGC.
