About JGEC

Founded in 1961, JGEC is an autonomous institution recognized by the Government of West Bengal. It is affiliated with Maulana Abul Kalam Azad University of Technology (MAKAUT) and is AICTE-approved. The B.Tech courses at JGEC have been ranked 59 out of 160 in India in 2024.
 

Campus Infrastructure

JGEC offers a well-developed campus with separate hostels for boys and girls. The college also has fully equipped engineering labs to support students' academic needs. Students can engage in research projects during their final year, under the guidance of faculty members.

Admission Process

Admission to JGEC is based on entrance exams. The admissions typically start at the beginning of the academic year. The common entrance exams accepted for UG and PG programs include

Eligibility Criteria

•  UG Programs : Candidates must have passed 10 + 2 with at least 45% marks in the Science stream.
   
• PG Programs : For postgraduate courses, students need a minimum of 60% marks in their undergraduate studies.
