Manipal Institute of Technology (MIT), was established in 1957 as one of the first pioneering self - financing engineering in India. Later in 2000, MIT became the constituent institute of the Deemed University Manipal Academy of Higher Education (MAHE). This institute has a total student intake of around 2500 per year and around 10,000 students, 675 Faculty members, more than 1100 support staff, and over 55000 alumni. 

MIT provides the right ambiance and platform for the students. This institute is accredited by the National Assessment and Accreditation Council (NAAC) and approved by the All -India Council for Technical Education (AICTE).
 

MIT offers 21 Undergraduate programs, 31 Postgraduate programs and Doctoral programs in the field of Engineering and Science. It undertakes the sponsored research programs supported by funding agencies such as DST, CSIR, AICTE and the Ministry of Environmental Sciences. MIT has collaborative research programs in association with premier entrepreneurship nurtured at the institute with facilities such as MUTBI and Central Instrumentation Facility.
