IIT Roorkee admission 2025 to various UG, PG, Integrated, and PhD programs is through the national entrance examination. The total fee for the 4-year full time BTech program is INR 8 Lakhs. The selection is based on the cutoff score of JEE Advanced exam followed by JoSAA Counselling. Besides this, you can also apply to BDes, BTech + MTech, BS + MS, MArch, MTech, MDes, MBA, MSc, PhD, etc. programs at IIT Roorkee.

Admission to the MTech program is through GATE exam followed by COAP Counselling. IIT Roorkee also accepts IIT JAM, CAT, CEED, AAT exams for admission to the MSc, MBA, MDes, and BArch programs, respectively.

However, for admission to the PhD programs you need to have 60% in the post-graduation degree. However, the selection is based on the valid score in GATE/ UGC-NET/ CSIR-NET/ ICAR or ICMR score followed by an Interview round.  You can also appear for a Written Test conducted by IIT Roorkee and then appear for the Interview.

IIT Roorkee Admission Process 2025

IIT Roorkee admission to the BTech program is through JEE Advanced exam. AAT and UCEED scores are also accepted for BArch and Bdes programs, respectively.

However, admission to the MTech, MArch, MURP, and PhD is through GATE Exam, IIT Graduates and Golden Girl Scheme for Female Applicants.

• GATE Qualified Candidates: If you have 60% marks in the graduation are qualified for GATE national level entrance exam. However, the seats will be allotted through COAP counselling.
• IIT Graduates: All the IIT Graduates with a minimum CGPA of 8 on a 10-point scale will get direct admission without a GATE exam.
• Golden Girl Scheme for Female Applicants: IIT Roorkee offers direct admission to female students under Golden Girl Scheme. All the FIRST Rank Holder (Gold Medalist) female students from an IIT and/or Institute/University in the most recent years will get direct admission to IIT Roorkee. They will be exempted from all national level entrance exams for admission.
