IGNOU Admission 2025: Courses, Fees, Application Form, Eligibility, Status, Re Registration

IGNOU admission takes place twice a year, i.e. in the month of January and July. The largest open University, IGNOU is run by the Central Government, offers courses like BA, BBA, BEd, BCom, BSc, MSc, MA, MBA, MCom, MCA, PhD. IGNOU admission 2025 is based on merit. However, for admission to the BEd, MPhil, Post-Basic BSc Nursing, and PhD programs, IGNOU conducts entrance tests.

For admission to the PhD program, you will be selected based on personal interview round after UGC NET or IGNOU PhD Entrance Test. Interview shall have three components comprising Research Methodology (40%), subject domain (40%) and Communication skills (20%). For admission to the BEd program, you need to appear for IGNOU Entrance Test.

Application form is both online and offline mode. You need to register through the official website and create a DEBI ID before applying for the application process. For the offline application process, you need to visit your Regional Centre to buy and submit the application form.

IGNOU admission to UG and PG programs is both through online and offline process. The admission takes place twice a year and is based on merit along with entrance test for BEd, MPhil, Post-Basic BSc Nursing, and PhD programs. You need to pay INR 300 to register for IGNOU admission.

How to Apply for IGNOU Admission?

• Click on your desired mode of program i.e. ODL, Online Program, foreign IOP. You can also apply for the PhD program and re-registration.
• After logging in, carefully fill out the application form.
• Upload all the necessary documents.
• Submit the form.

Documents Required

• Scanned Photograph (less than 100 KB)
• Scanned Signature (less than 100 KB)
• Scanned copy of relevant Educational Qualification (less than 200 KB)
• Scanned Copy of Experience Certificate (if any) (less than 200 KB)
• Scanned Copy of Category Certificate, if SC/ST/OBC (less than 200 KB)

IGNOU Re-Registration Admission Process

For admission to the January 2025 session, you need to apply for re registration. Follow the steps given to apply for IGNOU admission 2025.

• Visit IGNOU site: ignou.ac.in/Default.aspx

• Tick the check box and click on ?Proceed for re-registration".
• Enter your enrollment number and password.
• Click on Login.

• Carefully fill out the application form.
• Submit it.

IGNOU Admission Status

Once you have submitted the application form, you can check your admission status from ?Know Your Status? option. You will know whether your application is ?pending? or ?approved?. However, IGNOU will inform you about your candidature within two months via email and text message.
